FreeCal Get it on the App Store

Support

FreeCal is made by one person, and that person reads every email.

Email: andrew@getfreecal.com

Say which iPhone and iOS version you are on and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot helps. You will normally hear back within a day or two.

Common questions

Is anything locked in the free version? No. Every feature is in the free app. No Ads removes the banner, the daily full-screen ad and the video before a photo scan, and nothing else. See where the ads are.

How do I cancel No Ads? Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose FreeCal and cancel. You keep No Ads until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are also Apple’s: reportaproblem.apple.com.

I bought No Ads but still see ads. Open FreeCal → Settings → Restore purchases. That asks the App Store for your purchases again and applies them. If it still shows ads, email us with the receipt Apple sent you.

Search finds nothing, or barcodes do not scan. Both need a connection. If you are online and it still fails, our server may be having a bad moment; try again in a few minutes and email us if it lasts.

The photo scan got a food wrong. It will, sometimes. Every scan comes back as a list you can edit before it is logged: fix the portion, remove a food, add one, or search for the right one instead. Estimates are a starting point, not a verdict.

Why did my calorie target change? If you chose adaptive targets, FreeCal reviews them every two weeks from your weigh-ins and your food log, and tells you in a sentence when one moves. If you would rather your numbers stayed put, switch to manual targets in Settings; FreeCal never changes a number you set.

Where is my data? On your phone, and in Apple Health if you turned that on. There is no account and no cloud copy, so deleting the app deletes your diary. Export a CSV from Settings first if you want to keep it.

I saw an ad I think you should block. Tell us. We keep a blocklist with the ad network covering diet pills, fat burners, appetite suppressants, detox products and before-and-after body ads. Send a screenshot of the ad and we add the advertiser.

Can I delete everything? Yes. Deleting the app removes your diary, weigh-ins and targets from your phone. Anything you saved to Apple Health stays there under Apple’s control until you delete it in the Health app. The only thing our server holds is a random install identifier used for the daily scan cap, which is not linked to you and rolls over daily.
